Welcome to Glasgow Podcart. An erratic blog and podcast that will hopefully introduce you to at least one new artist to embrace with your bosom.
Icky Blossoms. Shit name, isn’t it? You’d expect a band called Icky Blossoms to be a white boy-girl combo who do ironic ukulele covers of rap songs and the Lon Lon Farm theme, and are really, really brilliant at social media. But such nightmare visions of twee hipster turpitude are unfounded.
Degree Shows are, as far as I’m concerned, fraught with danger; the sheer weight of what’s on offer causing fluctuations in quality, as well as meaning that the more subtle and esoteric works get crowded out by the whizz-bang neon lights and large-scale installations.
On April 25th 2013, nervy Korean troops practised landing drills in Ponhang, citizens in Boston continued to watch the emotional fall-out from the recent bombings in their city and the death toll from a Bangladeshi factory collapse reached 200.
Glasgow Podcart is a Scottish based music/arts website. We produce weekly podcasts showcasing the best in grass roots and unsigned artists not only from Scotland, but around the world. The main idea behind the podcast being that we don’t want to create some pretentious ‘Indie’ site and would rather expose as much new talent as possible. No matter what style, what size or how established, we believe everyone deserves a platform to showcase their work.
