SxSW Scottish Artists Announced

Tuesday, January 8th, 2013

Creative Scotland have announced seven artists from our wee country will be funded to travel to perform at South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas this March.

The artists announced are:

The View

Camera Obscura

Young Fathers

PAWS

Kassidy

Twitch and Wilkes

Jackmaster

They will appear as part of two Scottish showcase concerts at the music festival. The Showcasing Scotland events wll take place at the British Music Embassy on Wednesday 13 & Friday 15 March.

Holy Esque, Tango in the Attic, and Chvrches are among the other Scottish artists who will appear in Texas from 8 – 17 March and appear at the Showcase events and gigs. The difference with these three is that they will not receive funding.
