We are back with another weather report! It has been a while, but we have been perusing SoundCloud and have picked 4 tracks that we are loving this week!

Dick Hyman – Alfred, The King of Disco (Magic Daddy Travesty Edit 2012)

Not entirely sure about the name Magic Daddy, but this is has to have the word funky included somewhere. It also takes me back to Super Discount days and Etienne De Crecy which is always a bonus. A cross-pollination of house, disco and electro this is a beauty.

This is exceptionally sweet. I don’t mean in a completely patronising and demoralising way, but in the way that it makes you want to sit there and smile to yourself. Staccato strings and plummeting synth sounds combined with duelling male/female vocals shows that this lot have a lot of promise. I really want to see this band live now!

Ólöf Arnalds – Car Song

I first saw Ólöf in Glasgow’s Captains Rest and she brought time to a standstill. She is one of these artists that creates different worlds with simple, heart –felt melodies and whispering vocals. This is one of those songs, a lullaby essentially and a track that just goes to show less is more.
