  • Glasgow Podcart is a Scottish based music/arts website. We produce weekly podcasts showcasing the best in grass roots and unsigned artists not only from Scotland, but around the world. The main idea behind the podcast being that we don’t want to create some pretentious ‘Indie’ site and would rather expose as much new talent as possible. Detour’s Wee Jaunt!

We thought we would have it here to announce something that we have been waiting to do for a long time.

For all our adventures that has seen us go up mountains and through deserts and into rivers, one event that we do has really captured the imagination of a everyone who has been involved. Last year, we put on two Wee Jaunts – free musical adventures around a city, with bands playing in unique and ever-more ridiculous locations. Halina and co have helped immeasurably with these, and when, this July, we put on our first Wee Jaunt in Edinburgh, Glasgow Podcart was once again ever-present, bottle of wine in one hand, microphone in the other.

We really did have one of the best days of our lives – we took 100 people around Glasgow to see a hardcore band in a poetry library, indie-folk heroes play in a mosque canteen, and much more besides.

We are delighted to announce then, that as a wee festive treat, the videos from that Wee Jaunt – that includes ten different artists – will be uploaded, one a day, from the 14th of December. Just in time for Christmas. You’ll be able to get them on our website – www.detour-scotland.com.

We just want to say thank you to everyone involved – and our next Wee Jaunt will be ridiculous.
