Team PodcART continues to grow…AND WE WANT YOU TOO!

Firstly I would like to thank everyone who got in touch with me about joining Team PodcART. I attempted to contact everyone who emailed me about joining the team but if I missed anyone out please accept my apologies! The process of inviting people to join has further reinforced what I already believe to be true. Glasgow and indeed Scotland are blissfully overflowing with amazingly gifted and talented people. I had great fun looking through the various portfolios, websites and CV’s that were sent my way. I would in fact go as far as to say that it was an education in all things Art.

With great excitement and enthusiasm, I can now happily welcome Sophie Stubbs and Iona Bruce into our family. In these two ladies we have found two people who fit as snuggly as a penguin into a velvet jump suit into our ethos, and are exactly what we were instinctively looking for: They are bursting with talent, ideas and enthusiasm and are individuals who can work together to do something extraordinary for the struggling or lesser known artists in Glasgow. Both ladies have the energy and inspiration I believe can help us achieve something remarkable. An organisation run by artists, for artists, which is capable of showcasing new talent and helping artists exhibit their work without compromising their artistic vision. Already some of the new ideas introduced by Sophie and Iona are filling us with excitement and I cannot wait to see the fruits of their efforts over the coming weeks.

I would also like to take the time to mention another talented individual who will be writing for our website – Hello, good evening and welcome to Mr Chris Cope. Some of you may be aware of his work already as he writes for a generous selection of other publications such as The List and The Fly. Mr Cope has also penned work for the likes of national magazine, Football Punk too. Yeah, he likes football despite being brought up in Shetland where various activities involving sheep are more the norm. Well done on that fella. His interests include island dwelling and hankering for the sea breeze. Outwith this, he likes to take in live music, spend every waking minute on Spotify and enjoys photos of animals looking funny. Alright, perhaps he never completely escaped the whole sheep thing, but the balance definitely appears to be in favour of Spotify and fitba. Team PodcART can deal with that, so contribute away squire. This man of many talents also plays bass in The Red Show, which is a hefty mix of rock/punk/blues. People often get their name wrong apparently. Weird. Keep an eye out for news of ‘The Red Shoe’ gigs here. We are happy that Chris has agreed to also submit work to be published on our little website. Freelance your little red socks off like the talented visionary of multiplicitas journalistic fervour that you are.

So the family grows, however we want everyone to feel a part of the family. PodcART is an organisation set up to be used by musicians, artists, photographers and writers. We want you to tell us what you think we should be doing? If you go to a gig and write an amazing review, send it to us and we will publish your words. If you write a brilliant blog or short story or essay then please, submit it to us and we will publish it. If you have taken some amazing photographs or painted stunning pictures, sculpted braw art from raw sewage, then we want to know about it.

Glasgow PodcART is here to showcase YOU, all you need to do is let us know who you are. SIMPLES!!!
