Electric Fan Death

There are certain songs that you listen to in life that all possess a certain homogeneity. The simplicity of them is the reason that we listen to them repeatedly. Electric Fan Death encompass all of this and each song they write initiates levels of naturalness.
Glasgow PodcART have chosen Electric Fan Death (EFD) as our Artist Of The Week. Sonic Youth and Dinosaur Jnr are previous bands that had the same gift to create songs of clarity. Solid bass lines and syncopated melodies combined with a staunch percussion have an overwhelming effect. They penetrate your mindset and stay with you so that your inner self is singing them without you even realising.
‘Wayguk’ was first passed to me by Sean, it has all the elements of a paramount song. The lackadaisical vocals are notably stand out. Like making the first cast of a fishing rod into a crystal clear lake, the line flies over head and lands gently with beatific ease. I adore vocals that have a way of capturing my heart in the same way as one that is illustrious.

Ollie Philpott and Ste Wilson of Electric Fan Death now reside in South Korea and took their name from the country’s urban legend. It states that an electric fan, if left running overnight in a closed room, can cause the death (by suffocation, poisoning or hypothermia) of those inside. Personally, I think it is a spectacular band name not only as a roll off the tongue but also because we all stereotype. I had assumed they were going to be a Death Metal outfit but to my complete surprise they were a melodious duo of breathy gratification.
Electric Fan Death have a promising future. Urban legend states that your air supply is going to be taken away from you. I feel it will diminish when you yourself forget to breath. Lie back, immerse yourself in their music and let it take you to shores of rapture.
