Synergy Concerts Presents: Il Sogno Del Marinaio & Orphans

Wednesday, February 27th, 2013

I think it was RM Hubbert that introduced me first to Minutemen, I have often said that I feel ridiculously naïve and out of the loop when I am introduced to bands that I really should have been listening to for years.

Mike Watt formerly of the incredible Minutemen and also another band you may know Stooges is coming to Glasgow on Saturday 2nd March with his new band Il Sogno Del Marinaio thanks to Synergy Concerts.

Mono is the venue of choice and it will prove to be a spectacular night. Il Sogno Del Marinaio which is Italian for ‘The Sailor’s Dream’ are a stunning trio and the awe-inspiring musicianship that has made Mike Watt a hero to many has been amplified with the help of Andrea Belfi (drums) and Stefano Pilia (guitar).

Orphans

Supporting with be Glasgow band Orphans. A band we have previously featured on one of our podcasts. Their punk ideals are the perfect complement to Il Sogno Del Marinaio and I am sure they are going to hold their own on this bill. Their previous release Before it Itches is full of vehement energy.

This is a gig not to be missed; it will bring as much satisfaction to dedicated fans as it will new. I am sure it is going to be as much an education as it is entertainment of the highest standard.
