An Amazing Opportunity for Unsigned Bands
Amazing Radio – the only radio station dedicated to exclusively playing unsigned and independent music – brings you The Amazing Chart.
The Amazing Chart is the first Top 40 Chart that mixes airplay and statistical information to derive a chart exclusively for unsigned artists, and is a powerful platform for emerging talent to share their music with the world. More
Wickerman Festival Previews: The Solus Tent – FOUND
Although FOUND have become one of Scotland’s best loved bands they still remain somewhat of an enigma. More an arts collective than a band, the Edinburgh outfit has fingers in many a pie. Alongside their outstanding collection of electronica they have also had time to collaborate in the creation of a BAFTA winning musical project in the form of Cybraphon, the emotional instrument. Call Me Ishmael – ‘Game Of Kings’
Call Me Ishmael are a band that I have had ticking over in the conscious area of my music mind for about a year now. As is so often the case, I stumbled across them by complete accident at a gig in the Admiral Bar one evening. They really impressed that night, with huge energy kicking guitars and a genuine enthusiasm that was completely free of pretension, creating instant likeability. Addictive riffs and intelligently meandering melodies resulted in their secure place as my ‘ones to watch’. More
Melpomeni – 8 Tragedies, 2 Love Songs And A Breakdown
You may know her as a member of classical, all-female ensemble, The Mediæval Bæbes, but Melpomeni has now chosen to focus on her solo career by releasing her debut album ‘8 Tragedies, 2 Love Songs and a Breakdown’. More

Penguins Kill Polar Bears & Servantnoise @ King Tuts 27/06
There is something quite primal about going to gigs on humid nights. I have seen Penguins Kill Polar Bears acoustically and after my recent EP review wanted to reserve full judgement for a full live set. I am a new to Servantnoise, I know the individuals, but I don’t think I was quite prepared for what was to come. More
Bloc & Detour Presents: ‘A Wee Jaunt’
Sundays are usually reserved for holy graces, slow drivers and deadly hangovers. But sometimes, just sometimes, Sundays can be a little bit different.
And last Sunday was certainly this. There were no sermons or senile drivers. There was, however, musical anarchy across the length and breadth of Glasgow – most of which located in the toilets of the some of the city’s esteemed music venues. More

A Weekend In The Life Of De-Cart
It’s Sunday 25th July. It is approximately 4.30pm and I have just woken up. I think I have been at Wickerman Festival for the last 2 days, but it all may be a beautiful dream.
Friday morning team Podcart arrived on site and it was a very smooth entrance! Dan Schmitz (Orange Slice Records) was our sound engineer for the weekend and Luke Joyce (photographer) had very kindly transported us down and was going to photograph proceedings! We were lucky enough to be parked and camped right behind the Solus Tent and could not have asked for a better position (can I point out at this stage I am not trying to insert as many innuendos as possible into the writing of this). F.R.I.E.N.D.
It’s Friday morning and this is the start of 3 days off after one of the most emotionally polarised weeks in a few months. My ‘real life’ job has the ability to take me to new depths of shit each day. It has made me realise how ridiculous human beings are, how materialistic, how selfish and sometimes how disgusting they are. Perspective is a wonderful thing and whilst I am guilty of getting upset about a scoop of ice cream falling on the pavement (this is a fucking travesty incidentally especially if your childhood nickname was ‘Chunk’) I still like to think that flesh, blood and real emotion is far more justified.
